What a great reunion!! hats off to our fantastic committee. Estelle, Margie, Connie, Jim Wandell, Gregg, and all the others I have left off unintentionally, it was so good to see all of you, just never enough time for conversation. Krueger, you look great for an old Football player!!!

Hi everyone! It was soooo good to see all of you the other night. Why did I wait so long. Hey you Elginites! Have you been to Cafe Magdelena's in downtown Elgin? It is next to Kenney's Sporting Goods. Fred Steffens and his wife own it and live upstairs in a loft. Fred went to old Elgin High with my mom! Anyway, the atmosphere is great and the food is good, as well as the prices. It's a great place to stop in for a glass of wine/drink, soup/salad, coffee/dessert or a main meal. His service is ify because it's hard to get started in Elgin,unless your Paul's or a franchise. It's a very quaint kind of place. My daughter and I drive in especially to go there and meet family. Fred sings with the Elgin Choral Union/Elgin Symphony. He's a real good guy. Look for the one with the white beard and tell him the VanDusen family sent you (that's my uncle, he doesn't really know me) Hope to run into some of you there. Till next time. Stell Williams

It was soooo fun to see so many of you after all this time. Why did I ever miss the other reunions? We should get together more often. I want to encourage you Elginites to visit Cafe Magdelena if you haven't already. Cafe Magdelena is next to Kenney's Sporting Goods, it has been open for about two years now and is trying to make it. Fred Steffens and his wife own it. He is a lawyer in Elgin as well. They live in the loft above the restaurant. Fred also sings with the Elgin Choral Union/Elgin Synphony. They are very nice and have a very special restaurant for Elgin. It has alot of atmosphere, the food is good and resonable but because of his struggling, the service is hard to predict, so bear with him. It's a great place just to go for a glass of wine/drink, salad/soup,coffee and dessert or a good meal. It is hard to be successful with a restaurant in the Elgin area unless you are Paul's or a franchise. This is a wonderful opportunity to have a special place in Elgin to go. How fun to stumble on this website and find myself listed as missing. You can now list me as "found" and with a new last name. I moved to Jacksonville, Florida 2 years ago, never thought I could leave Elgin. After teaching for too many years at good old EHS I left and am now teaching in Florida. There is lots I miss about home, but the winter weather here is great, hanging out on the beach New Years Day is great. I actually have never attended a reunion and won't be able to make this one either, the Florida school year started on August 1. Hope everyone has fun - maybe the next one.
